Search for individual values

This section describes how you can search for individual values in the Web Interface when a value is required for a property page.

Text fields

Secondary search is supported for text fields that represent an ID or Code. A search () icon is displayed beside fields when secondary search is available. Click this icon to search for the available values for these fields.

If secondary search is supported for a text field on a property page (for example, Carrier ID on the tariff properties screen), the secondary search returns a single value when a Carrier ID hyperlink is clicked from the Search for Carriers screen.

Any value specified in the text field before clicking the search icon is typically carried to the applicable text field on the corresponding secondary search page. This value can be used as a filter criteria "as is" or modified on the secondary search page.

Drop-down lists

Drop-down lists on property pages are used for fields where there are relatively few possible values. For combo boxes where a value is mandatory and there is exactly one potential value, this single value is automatically pre-selected.
