List Customization (All)

Use this screen to choose the columns that are displayed in the associated List View and to arrange these in the order that you want.

Each List View in Transportation Manager comes with predefined settings that determine:

  • Columns visible by default and their display order
  • Number of columns to be fixed or frozen when scrolling horizontally
  • Number of rows to be displayed per page (By default, Transportation Manager retrieves the maximum number of rows that can be presented on the page without requiring the user to scroll vertically.)
  • Default sort order of the retrieved rows

You can modify these settings as needed. The new settings are remembered each time you access the specific List View.

Columns

Columns currently on display are shown as Displayed Columns and are listed in order of presentation. Columns available for display (but not currently selected) are shown as Available Columns and are listed in alphabetic sequence.

Mandatory Columns for the list or editable grid must always be displayed.

Page Control

When Select All is selected in the Page Control section, Transportation Manager selects all rows from the applicable table that meet the current selection criteria. However, a system-level maximum limits the number of rows that can be returned to a Transportation Manager list. The Number of Rows value in the Page Control section is also limited by the system-level maximum.

When Full Page is selected in the Page Control section, the list is loaded with the maximum number of rows that can be displayed without requiring a vertical scroll bar. This is determined by considering the width/height of the content window frame, list header requirements and the space required to display the buttons below the table.

A value must be provided for exactly one of the following fields in the Page Control section: Select All, Number of Rows, and Full Page.

A minimum of one column must be selected for display.

The majority of these options are also available for updatable lists. Additionally, you can specify the number of empty rows that should be displayed when the icon to Add New Row is clicked.

Sorting Control

For most columns available for use as Sorting Controls, the Sort Order can be Ascending or Descending. For columns where the field is a True/False flag or a defined by a Transportation Manager Domain Table, the Sort Order must be Grouping. When Sort Order is Grouping, sequencing is based on an internally maintained value that may not correspond to any alphanumeric representation.
