Change Container Tracking Number
Establish eligibility to perform operation
The Change Container Tracking Number operation will be allowed only when both of the following statements is True:
- Operational Status for the Shipment Leg Container is In Transit.
- If any A/P voucher refers to the selected shipment leg container, the Voucher Status is Eligible.
Given that the User Group Authorization flags are not considered when Container Tracking Numbers are originally captured during Shipment Leg Confirmation, they will also be ignored when changing existing numbers.
Validate the new Container Tracking Number
The following validation will be performed for the "new" Container Tracking Number:
- It must not have been previously used for the applicable carrier.
- It must be consistent with the defined format for the applicable reference number qualifier.
- It must not be equal to the existing Container Tracking Number.
Depending on configuration for the applicable Reference Number Qualifier, the Container Tracking Number might be computed by the application during Shipment Leg Confirmation. Regardless of configuration for the applicable Reference Number Qualifier, the new value for Container Tracking Number must be provided by the user when it is updated using the Change Container Tracking Number operation.
Trigger updates
If validation is successful, the following updates will be performed:
- Reference Number in the shipment leg container table will be updated to refer to the "new" Container Tracking Number.
- Reference Number in the reference number table will be updated to refer to the "new" Container Tracking Number.
- A row will be created in the archived reference number table when the Archive Deleted flag for the applicable reference number qualifier is True. Reason will be "Tracking Number Changed Post Confirmation".
- If an A/P voucher has already been created at shipment leg container level, the Reference Number in the A/P voucher table will be updated to refer to the "new" Container Tracking Number.
