The Commit Status for carrier, service and primary schedule for bookings are available for inclusion on all Lists of Bookings in Transportation Manager. These statuses are also presented on the Bookings Properties page. Primary Schedule collectively refers to voyage, booking service type, voyage, vessel departure/arrival locations dates/times).
Each Commit Status will indicate whether the corresponding value is hard committed, soft committed or suggested.
- Hard Commit - Indicates the carrier, service, equipment type, domicile or primary schedule has been assigned manually, inherited from a child transaction (shipment leg for a load, shipment leg, or load for a trip or booking), or forced based on transaction status (for example, when load reaches Tendered status). The load, trip or booking could be hard committed for more than one of these reasons. (Note: Domicile requirements and primary schedule cannot be inherited from shipment legs.)
- Soft Commit - Indicates carrier, service, equipment type, domicile, or primary schedule has been assigned based on optimization or by rate shop with the expectation that these will serve as constraints when the load, trip, or booking is subsequently tendered. These constraints will not continue to be enforced should the selected carrier reject the tender.
- Suggested - Indicates carrier, service, equipment type, domicile, or primary schedule has been assigned by Routing, Rating and Scheduling. Values could be replaced when Routing, Rating and Scheduling is next performed for the load, trip, or booking. These values will not constrain the tender process. However, if the trip (if applicable), booking (if applicable), load and related shipments are not subsequently modified, Routing, Rating and Scheduling will likely select the same values.
The hard commit flags for Carrier, Service, Equipment Types, Domiciles and primary schedule for a load will be set to True when:
- Spot rate is applied
- Manual Override is applied when creating, modifying or confirming load
- Selection is made from the Rate Shop page for load in Tendered, Tender Accepted, Confirming, Picked-Up, In Transit, Stopped, Completed or Closed status
- Hard Commit is requested when selecting a tariff / service combination from the Rate Shop screen
The soft commit flag for the load will be set to True when:
- Load is created based on optimization results.
- Manual Override is applied when initiating the Tender process.
- Selection is made from the Rate Shop page for load in Open, Planned or Tender Rejected status.
- At least one of the following load attributes is not hard committed: carrier, service, tractor equipment type, trailer equipment type, tractor domicile, trailer domicile.
