Distance engines – Telogis GeoBase from Telogis

Transportation Manager supports Telogis GeoBase from Telogis for distance and transit time retrieval.

Note: The Telogis integration does not support Country Breakdown.

Route Types

The following Route Types (Parameter name RouteType) are supported for TM / Telogis GeoBase integration:

  • Fastest
  • Shortest

Options

The following options are supported for TM / Telogis GeoBase integration:

Option (Parameter Name)

Values

Details

ComputeEstimateAfterFailure

T/F

Default True. This parameter will determine how to handle the situation where the distance engine fails to compute a distance/transit time for any reason, including the case where the distance engine is not available. If True, an approximate distance and time will be computed based on the difference in latitude/longitude between the two locations; if False, the distance/transit time retrieval request will fail.

WindowStart

HH:MM

Default 00:00. This parameter defines the default time of day specified in calls to Telogis for distance and transit time when real-time traffic is not requested. If not specified, the integration will retrieve the transit time assuming a departure time of midnight.

DefaultSpeedProfile

String

This parameter defines the default speed profile to be used when an Equipment specific speed profile has not been configured. Telogis supports specifying road speeds for each of Telogis’ eight road types. If not specified, the Telogis default road speeds will be used.

The speed profile should be specified as a semi-colon separated list of eight integers, which represent the speed to use for each of the eight Telogis speed categories.

For example, “75;65;55;41;31;21;10;5”:

Indicates that the truck will go 75mph on roads marked >80mph, 65mph on roads marked 65-80mph, 55mph on roads marked 55-64mph, 41mph on roads marked 41-54mph, 31 mph on roads marked 31-40mph, 21mph on roads marked 21-30mph, 10mph on roads marked 6-20mph, and 5mph on roads marked <6mph.

The Telogis speed categories are:

  • >80mph, >130kph
  • 65-80mph, 101-130kph
  • 55-64mph, 91-100kph
  • 41-54mph,71-90kph
  • 31-40mph, 51-70kph
  • 21-30mph, 31-50kph
  • 6-20mph, 11-30kph
  • <6mph, <11kph

RealTimeTrafficProvider

String

Indicates the traffic source to use when real-time traffic influenced transit times are requested by the scheduling process. Only ‘HERE’ is accepted. This property is for future use only.

RealTimeTrafficSource

String

Provide the URL for HERE Real-Time Traffic feed end points. The application will fetch the data for the relevant countries when real-time traffic influenced transit times are requested by the scheduling process.

The URL will be provided by Blue Yonder for customers who have purchased real-time traffic data as part of their Telogis subscription through Blue Yonder.
