Domicile Equipment fields

  • Equipment Type: The Equipment Type. It is mandatory and must be defined for at least one of the tariff service combinations for the carrier that owns the domicile.
  • Enforce Constraints As Percentage: Indicates whether the Minimum Number of Loads/Trips and Maximum Number of Loads/Trips represent percentages. If unselected, these values represent an actual count of equipment.
  • Availability Start Date/Time: The date/time that equipment at the domicile becomes available. If not specified, this implicitly refers to the earliest possible date/time.
  • Must Start By Date/Time: The date/time that utilization of the equipment at the domicile must start by. If not specified, this implicitly refers to the latest possible date/time.
  • Minimum Number of Loads/Trips: The minimum number of loads or trips, or minimum percentage of loads or trips that must be assigned to this domicile during a given optimization to avoid the minimum load or trip penalty. If Enforce Constraints As Percentage is unselected, the penalty will be applied for each load or trip below the minimum, else the penalty will be applied for each percentage point below minimum. Qualifying trips are counted just once, regardless of the number of loads attached to the trip.
  • Maximum Number of Loads/Trips: The maximum number of loads or trips, or percentage of loads or trips that can be assigned to this domicile during a given optimization before the maximum load penalty will be applied. If Enforce Constraints As Percentage is unselected, the penalty will be applied for each load or trip in excess of the maximum, else the penalty will be applied for each percentage point above maximum. Qualifying trips are counted just once, regardless of the number of loads attached to the trip.
  • Penalty for Minimum Loads: The minimum loads violation penalty amount, expressed in base system currency. This penalty will be applied for each load (or percentage of loads) below the minimum.
  • Penalty for Maximum Loads: The maximum loads violation penalty amount, expressed in base system currency. This penalty will be applied for each load (or percentage of loads) above the maximum.
  • Maximum Traveled Distance: The maximum distance (expressed in system distance unit of measure) this equipment can travel for a load or trip. Applicable only for power equipment (for example, tractors). Refers to the total distance from the tractor domicile to each of the freight/trailer pickup/drop stops an back to the tractor domicile.
  • Use Max Unloaded Distance Between Loads: Indicates whether the Maximum Deadhead Distance per Load is enabled. If enabled, a value of zero in the corresponding column will indicate that no deadhead distance is allowed between loads on a trip.
  • Maximum Unloaded Distance Between Loads: The maximum distance (expressed in system distance unit of measure) this equipment can travel between loads on a trip. Applicable only for power equipment (for example, tractors). Includes distances where trailer is empty (deadhead) and distances where there is no trailer (bobtail).
  • Use Max Return Distance: Indicates whether the Maximum Return Distance is enabled. If enabled, a value of zero in the corresponding column will indicate that no return distance is allowed.
  • Maximum Return Distance: The maximum distance (expressed in system distance unit of measure) this equipment can travel from the final drop point back to the domicile. Applicable only for power equipment (for example, tractors). Refers to the distance from the final drop stop for freight back to the tractor domicile.
  • Use Max Repositioning Distance: Indicates whether the Maximum Repositioning Distance is enabled. If enabled, a value of zero in the corresponding column will indicate that no initial repositioning distance is allowed.
  • Maximum Repositioning Distance: The maximum distance (expressed in system distance unit of measure) this equipment can travel from the domicile to reach the first pick-up stop for a load or trip. Applicable for power equipment (for example, tractors) and cargo equipment (for example, trailers). For tractors, the maximum direct distance from the tractor domicile to the first freight pickup stop; for trailers, the maximum incremental distance required to retrieve the trailer.
