Duplicate Tariff Elements – Select Rates (Employee)
Use this page to copy rates from the source tariff to the target tariff.
The Copy Rates for Charge flag must be True for at least one row before you can navigate to the next page by clicking Submit.
If the Copy Services flag on the Duplicate Tariff Elements – Start page is True, you cannot access the Target Service ID on the Select Rates page. Instead, the values are replicated from the Duplicate Tariff Elements - Select Services page.
If the Copy Services flag on the Start page is True, Tariff Charges (conditions/options) are displayed only for the services where you selected Copy Service on the Select Services page.
If Copy Services on the Start page is False (the Select Services page is not displayed), all tariff charges for the source tariff are listed.
Copy rate data
When Submit is clicked, Transportation Manager attempts to duplicate portions of the source tariff to the target tariff. Data in the following tables is copied from the source tariff to the target tariff:
- Tariff Rates
- Tariff Rate Range Steps
- Rate Codes
The copied data refers to the Target Service ID and Target Charge ID corresponding to the selected Source Service ID and Source Charge ID, as defined on the Select Rates page.
Rates are copied from the source tariff only when there is not already an existing rate defined for the target tariff. Rates are defined for unique combinations of the following attributes:
- Tariff
- Service
- Charge
- Rate Code
- Freight Class (will be *FAK when not applicable)
- Date Range (optional)
- Equipment Type (optional)
- Range ID, Currency and Amounts will be copied from the Source Tariff Rate to the Target Tariff Rate.
Special considerations for date-specific rates exist:
- Rates are copied from the source tariff when the interval defined by the rate is not already defined on the target tariff.
- Rates are copied only when the interval for the rate falls fully or partially within the effective/expiration date range for the target tariff. Overlapping dates are adjusted to conform to the valid date range for the target tariff.
- If a request is made to copy rates where the dates do not partially overlap the effective/expiration date range for the target tariff and no rates exist on the target tariff for the Rate combination (Tariff, Service, Charge, Rate Code, Freight Class, Equipment Type), a rate is established for the applicable rate combination that covers the full effective/expiration date range interval for the target tariff. In this case, the amounts associated with the rate (for example, Per Unit Rate, Base Charge, Maximum, Minimum) are not copied. By creating a rate with zero amounts on the target tariff, the rate combination is enabled to receive updates for fuel surcharge prices.
For example: If the date range for a rate is 12/21/2010 through 01/21/2011 and the effective/expiration date range for the target tariff is 01/01/2011 through 12/31/2011, the dates for the Rate when copied to the target tariff are 01/01/2011 through 01/21/2011.
When the next page is displayed, a message indicates the number of rates that were copied.
Rate Selection Mode
If the Rate Selection Mode on the Select Rates page is Referenced Rate Codes Only, only the rates where the rate code already exists on the target tariff are copied.
If the Rate Selection Mode on the Select Rates page is All Selected Charges and the rate code for a rate being copied does not already exist for the target tariff, the applicable entry in the rate code table is copied in addition to copying the rate.
