Global Settings – Audit Data Configuration (Employee)
This page allows an administrator to configure Transportation Manager to capture data when changes are applied to operational entities (for example, loads, trips, shipments, bookings) and associated sub-entities (for example, charge details, charge overrides, stops, asset assignments).
Audit tables capture "snapshots" of operational entities at designated events. The data capture process is event driven, with data added to the Audit tables as each event occurs. Data in the Audit tables is not editable but can viewed by authorized users from the Audit Smartbench.
This page requires the administrator to indicate whether audit data should be captured for each event where auditing is supported.
For example: Load, stop, charge detail, and shipment data might be saved for Tender Accept events but only load data preserved for Tender Reject events. The available events cover the key milestones in the operational life cycles for shipments, loads, trips and bookings.
With two exceptions, data in the audit tables is not used by any base Transportation Manager process:
- On the shipment and load lists accessible from the List of Optimization Requests, data captured by the Plan Completed and Load Attached to Trip/Booking audit events is accessible, allowing you to analyze the results of an optimization plan.
- If the Carrier Assignment Recognition flag in the Global Settings is Assigned and First Tendered or Previously Tendered to First Carrier, the process that is performed at the start of Optimization to match loads/trips with carrier equipment availability and lane constraints are based on tender history rather than live load/trip data. In this case, data captured by the Tender, Tender Cancel and Tender Reject audit events are referred to by the Update Constraints process.
Details
This page presents an editable grid. This grid is pre-filled with rows corresponding to each event where auditing is supported. New rows cannot be added, and existing rows cannot be removed from this list. Customize View functionality is available via the appropriate icon above the list.
There are some combinations of event and entity that are not supported. For example, the Shipment/Shipment Leg column is not editable for Trip/Booking events or for the Load Maintained event; Load control flags (Load, Load Charge Detail, Load Stop, Load Schedule, Resource) are not editable for shipment and shipment leg events; External Cost data can only be captured for events that might contain new load rating results.
When multiple columns are editable for an event, any combination of flags are accepted.
There are no limitations as to when changes can be applied to the configuration.
