Maintain Load Gross Margin
The Maintain Load Gross Margin flag is maintained on the Workflow tab of the Control page of the Global Settings. If this check box is enabled, Transportation Manager will maintain the Desired Gross Margin and Anticipated Gross Margin columns in the load table. This flag will also enable filtering based on the relationship between the two gross margin values on various load selection pages in Transportation Manager. When activated, this functionality will utilize additional system resources.
If the Maintain Load Gross Margin flag is enabled, the anticipated gross margin percentage will be computed for a load whenever any of the following actions occur:
- Load routing/rating/scheduling for the applicable load
- Shipment routing/rating/scheduling (will impact the load corresponding to each shipment leg)
- A/R Consolidation (will impact the load corresponding to each shipment leg)
- A/R Voucher Reversal (if consolidation was previously performed for any of the affected shipments, will impact the load corresponding to each shipment leg)
- A/P Adjustment or Post Charge (each create/change/delete operation for a voucher charge detail will impact the applicable load)
- A/R Adjustment or Post Charge (each create/change/delete operation for a voucher charge detail will impact the load corresponding to each shipment leg for the shipment associated with the voucher)
- A/R Miscellaneous Vouchers (if a shipment is referenced, each create/change/delete operation for a voucher charge detail will impact the load corresponding to each shipment leg for the designated shipment)
The desired gross margin for loads will be established based on a corresponding value in the customer profile. For loads with shipments referencing different customers (or vendors), the Desired Gross Margin for the load will be based on the lowest Desired Gross Margin for any of the applicable customers. Desired Gross Margin will be reset (if necessary) when shipments are added to, or removed from, the load.
The load gross margin inquiry page can be accessed even when the Maintain Load Gross Margin flag is not enabled.
