Parcel Rating

When A/P rating is performed for an unassigned Shipment Leg, or A/R rating is performed for a Shipment, or rating results for an unassigned Shipment Leg are returned from the Optimizer, the charges returned will reference the Container if parcel rating is successfully rated at the container level.

The Quantity for the Shipment Container table refers to a number of identical packages. If the Quantity field is greater than one, when rating is performed for a tariff service associated with SMC3 RateWare parcel rating, the weight of the shipment container will be divided by the quantity field to obtain the per package weight. The array of the packages will be passed to the SMC3 RateWare parcel rating function. The charge details returned for this scenario will be one Charge Detail for each package.

If a shipment with multiple containers qualifies for the Hundred Weight Charge (CWT), the discount will be distributed to each of the Charge Details, pro-rated based on the weight of each package.

The tariff restrictions for maximum container weight, length, width and height will be honored.

If the Container Types from the various containers for a Shipment or Shipment Leg are different, external parcel rating will fail because the external parcel rating interface does not support the packaging type at the individual package level. This restriction also applies to the manifesting process and A/R consolidation.

When routing a trip or booking, any Tariff Service mapped to SMC3 RateWare will be skipped.
