Shift sequence
Shift sequence can be assigned to individual shipments. It is not updatable when any leg of the shipment is currently being optimized, or once any leg for the shipment has been attached to a load.
The shift sequence can be used during optimization to construct loads that improve efficiency at the receiving location. Optimization strategies that recognize shift sequence can be used to improve dock efficiency by minimizing the span between the production shifts where the individual shipments are expected to be consumed.
Shift sequence will be recognized at the destination location for shipments. Shift sequence will not influence the composition of loads that move between the origin and an intermediate shipping location, or between intermediate locations (for example, hubs).
Shift sequence is a numeric value. Optimizer will compute the difference between shift sequence numbers assigned to individual shipments when determining whether to combine shipments into a load.
