Stop / Location

If the Data Accumulation Level for a master condition/option is Pick Location, Drop Location or Pick and Drop Location, rating will be performed separately for each individual shipping location associated with the transaction:

  • For loads (including loads on trips or bookings), rate quotations (API) and rate calculator (web UI), rating will be performed for each stop on the itinerary.
  • For shipments and shipment legs, rating will allow a separate charge to be computed for the origin vs. destination.
  • For non-operational freight transactions, rating will be performed as if there is exactly one pick location (that is, the origin shipping location) and exactly one drop location (that is, the destination shipping location). Furthermore, rating will never compute separate charges for the pick and drop location for a single condition or option, even when the Data Accumulation Level is Pick and Drop Location.

For options, rating will be performed only for the locations where the option was activated (that is, Rate or Rate/Route). An option could be applied to a transaction in any of the following ways:

  • Auto-Applied based on applicable shipping location profiles
  • Manually applied for the transaction
  • Cascaded from a related transaction (for example, for loads, option could have cascaded from an attached leg or the corresponding shipment)

If the Data Accumulation Level for the master condition/option is Pick Location, Drop Location or Pick and Drop Location, the eligible values for Unit Type will be restricted to the following:

  • Shipments
  • Weight
  • Volume
  • Pieces
  • Pallets
  • Declared Value
  • Order Value
  • Flexible Quantity 1 - Flexible Quantity 5

Identical restrictions will be imposed for any of the Net Effect Calculation controls (tariff charge).

In the event that multiple charge details are computed for a single tariff charge, supersede is performed based on the sum of all related rows. If a tariff charge with multiple charge details is superseded, each charge detail will be eliminated.

The load pro-ration module will distribute charges incurred at the stop level to the shipment(s) picked and/or dropped at that stop. The same algorithms used to distribute load level charges are used when allocating stop level charges.
