Customize Page
- Click Settings
that is displayed on the right-hand side of the properties page header row. A dialog box is displayed for you to choose which property sections to display, which sections are expanded by default, as well as the order of sections down the page. The specific sections available for display vary by entity type.
Notes:
- The left-hand side of the Customize Page dialog box displays a list of Available sections for the current entity type. Only sections not currently selected for display are listed.
- Selected Sections list is directly across from the Available list.
- The order in which items appear in this list dictates the order in which they are displayed down the Properties page.
- The Selected Sections list provides the ability to group sections into a tabbed view. Use this feature to present one of more selected sections in a tabbed view format.
- Next to each item in the Selected Sections list is a check box indicating whether or not the section is displayed as Expanded by default when the properties view is opened.
- The Selected Buttons list located below the Selected Sections list allows you to define one or more properties view section to be presented via page operation button(s).
- The Reset Layout to Defaults button in the bottom left-hand corner of the page will restore this entity type’s page layout to the system default configuration.
- Click Save to close the dialog box and save page customizations. The open properties page and future instances of properties pages for this entity will reflect the adjustments.
Alternatively, click Cancel to close the dialog box without saving.
To make a hidden section visible on the properties page
- Select one or more items in the Available list.
- Perform one of the following:
- Click
located between the lists to move the highlighted selection from the Available list to the bottom of the SelectedSections list.
- Drag the selected section(s) from the Available list and drop it in the desired location of the Selected Sections list.
To make a visible section expanded or collapsed by default on the properties page
Click on the check box under the Expanded column. When active, the page will render the section as expanded, when unselected, the section will render as collapsed.
Note: This behavior can be temporarily overridden within the current session by clicking on the section header while the properties view is open. This action will toggle the state of the section (between expanded and collapsed) and be remembered for the duration of the current session.
To remove a section from the properties page
- Select the section name(s).
- Perform one of the following:
- Click
located between lists to move the selection from the SelectedSections list to the Available list.
- Drag the highlighted selection(s) from the Selected Sections list and drop it anywhere in the Available list.
To change the order in which sections appear on the page
- Select the section you want to move and drag it up or down the list of SelectedSections. Once you start dragging, a marker displays to let you know where your selection is hovering in the list.
- Drop your selection when the marker shows your target location, and now your selection is displayed.
To display sections in a tab group
- Click New Tab Group at the bottom of the SelectedSections list. A dialog box is displayed to name the new tab group.
- Enter the name and click
.
- Click Save to add the new folder to the bottom of the list or click Cancel to close this dialog box without creating the new folder.
- Select the sections you want in the tab set and drop them in the group folder after creating the tab group.
- Use drag-and-drop to relocate the tab group folder in the list of selected sections.
To rename or delete a tab group
You can follow one of the following methods:
- Right-click the tab group name in the Selected Sections list and select the appropriate operation from the context menu.
- You can delete a tab group by selecting it and then clicking Deselect Section
located between the two lists.
Note: Deleting or de-selecting a tab group causes any sections listed in that group to be moved to the Available list. If you want to keep sections listed in the tab group active in the display, consider moving them out of the tab group before deleting.
To display sections as page operations
- Use drag-and-drop to move desired section(s) from the Available or Selected Sections lists to the Selected Buttons list.
- Click Save. The properties view is refreshed with operation buttons named for each page section moved.
Notes:
- Use drag-and-drop within this section to define the display sequence of operation buttons.
- After the configuration is saved, clicking an operation button displays that section’s visible elements in a modal dialog.
