Drag and drop to assign assets

In Transportation Smartbench, the drag and drop feature allows you to assign assets to a target eligible load, trip, booking, or skeleton route.

Regardless if an asset selection is dropped on a load, trip, booking, or skeleton route, the Asset Assignment confirmation dialog is presented. When the action is confirmed, an asset assignment record is created only if the target is a load, trip, or booking. Assignments to skeleton routes are applied to the skeleton route Asset ID field only. Later (when a load is generated from the skeleton route), asset assignment(s) are created for the resulting load so long as there are no asset assignment restrictions defined as No Override violated.

You can use this feature in any one of the following ways:

Select a row in the asset view, then drag and drop on a target load, trip, booking, or skeleton route in its respective view.
Select a row in the load, trip, booking, or skeleton route views, then drag and drop on the eligible asset in the asset view.

Note: Users must have update permission to the target entity as well as meet applicable division, logistics group and plan authorizations to assign assets using drag and drop.
