Export list data to a spreadsheet

Authorized users can export the contents of most lists in Transportation Manager to a spreadsheet. Users are authorized when Allow Export Data from Lists is selected in the user's profile. This feature is available when the Export Data icon is displayed in the toolbar above the list.

Prompt page

When you click the Export Data icon from any list where the functionality is supported, the Transportation Manager: Export Data page is displayed.

Select one of the following options to control the number of rows that are exported to the spreadsheet:

  • Same data as current List: Export only the rows currently displayed in the Transportation Manager list. This is the default setting.
  • All Rows: Export all rows from the applicable table that meet the current selection criteria. Note that a system-level maximum limits the number of rows that can be exported from any list.
  • Number of Rows: If an integer is specified, it defines the maximum number of rows that are retrieved from the applicable table. The value specified must be less than or equal to the system-level maximum that limits the number of rows that can be exported from any list. When using this value, the number of rows exported is the lesser of the number that meet the current selection criteria and the value specified in this field.

Spreadsheet

The spreadsheet will be loaded as follows:

  • A column is created in the spreadsheet that corresponds to each field currently selected for display (as per List Customization).
  • The column headings in the spreadsheet correspond to the column headings as they are displayed in the list view.
  • Columns are positioned in the spreadsheet in the same sequence as they are displayed in the list view.
  • Rows selected for presentation are sorted based on the Sorting Controls used for the current list (as per List Customization). Overrides to the configured row sequence (that is, overrides applied using the Sort () icons at the top of each column on each Transportation Manager list) are ignored.
  • If the list supports a Search Screen, row filtering is based on the same Search Criteria that was used to select rows for presentation for the current instantiation of the list. If the list does not support a Search Screen, then all eligible rows are selected.
