Search item operations
Double click any search item to run it.
Right-click a search item in the search panel to perform the following operations:
- Run: Processes the selected search item. This populates a view in the results panel. That view displays a title to match the search item. If the view already exists in the results panel, the contents will be refreshed.
- Run in Background: Processes the selected search item in the background allowing you to continue working in the user interface while the process executes on the server. For more details, see Background execution.
- Edit…: Displays a dialog box where you can change the Search item properties of the selected search item. The search item Type cannot be changed.
- Duplicate: Generates a new search item of the same type. The text Copy is appended to the name of the duplicated item. Click Edit… to change the Search item properties of duplicated items, as needed. If the Search item being duplicated is in a search group, the duplicate will be added to the same search group.
- Delete: Removes the selected search item permanently from the search panel. A confirmation dialog box is displayed to confirm the operation. Any open view associated with a deleted search item is immediately closed. Deleted items cannot be recovered.
- Search...: Defines the data selection (aka filter) criteria for the selected search item. Running this operation displays the current search criteria for the selected search item based on the searchable elements defined for the search type. Here, new searches are configured and existing searches are modified.
