Dock Schedule view
The dock schedule view presents a configurable timeline orientation of dock commitments arranged by dock, and supports the execution of dock commitment-related operations.
The dock schedule view consists of the following elements:
- Title bar: Displays the dock schedule shipping location ID. The title bar also displays Dock Schedule view header operations.
- Operations toolbar: Displays dock commitment-specific operations associated to this view.
- Timeline: Displays the list of docks for the shipping location based on the dock commitment used to open this view. This view is displayed below the operations toolbar.
A new instance of the dock schedule view can be created from the following:
- Dock Commitment view
- Stop view
- Shipment Legs view
Timeline
By default, the Timeline displays all docks and all dock commitments for the shipping location associated with the selected dock commitment. This behavior allows users to view all recorded dock activity taking place at a shipping location.
Ad-hoc “quick filters” may be applied to the current instance by populating Dock ID and Dock Type fields located directly above the dock list.
The timeline is rendered based on the current configuration for number of days, the duration of each timeslot, and theme. The basis for the calendar day used to render the initial presentation is the start date of the dock commitment selected into the view.
All date/time values represent the time zone of the shipping location displayed in the view title bar.
Ad-hoc adjustments to the timeline configuration may be applied to the current instance, using specific Dock Schedule view header operations. These adjustments apply only as long as the instance remains open.
Each row represents one dock.
Information regarding a dock commitment (for example, Commitment Type, Start Date/Time, End Date/Time) can be viewed by hovering the mouse over a bar representing a dock commitment. For some hover fields selected for display (such as violations), data will appear only if the value indicates an exception.
Timeline configuration changes can be permanently applied through Customize Layout. Customizations include dock filters, dock list field selection, timeline duration controls, default theme and hover text fields. Saved selections impact the current instance and all future Dock Schedule instances.
Bars rendered in the timeline represent when a dock is closed (displayed in dark gray), as well as the defined duration (i.e., start and end) of existing dock commitments. When a load or trip's routing/rating/scheduling (RR&S) results are invalidated, dates/times associated with the dock commitment may or may not be valid. When a dock commitment for one stop on a load is modified, it may or may not impact other stops for the same load. Until RR&S is executed for the load or trip, the scheduling information for those other stops may or may not be valid.
When the timeline is initially rendered, the dock commitment selected into the view will be pre-selected (i.e., the bar item will have bold border). Multiple bar items can be selected by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking several bars in succession.
