Asset Candidates for Load, Trip, or Booking
This page allows you to assign assets from the list of assets for the selected entity. You can provide appropriate values in the following fields and click Find Candidates to display the list of qualifying assets.
- Asset Types: At least one asset type must be selected to initiate the search. Only the asset types selected here will appear in result lists. If Drivers is the only selected asset type, for example, Candidate result lists will only display driver type assets.
-
Display Approximate Distance and Transit Time: When selected, every candidate listed in results pages will display the approximate distance and transit time between:
- Candidate's previous assignment end location in relation to the load/trip/booking start location. If an asset has no previous assignment, the Asset’s address is used.
- Load/trip/booking end location in relation to the candidate's next assignment (if any)
Note: Enabling this setting requires additional computations that may adversely impact performance.
- Previous Assignment Limit: This numeric value is in the user’s distance unit of measure. When specified, the value is used to eliminate assets from consideration when the asset’s last known location is computed to be “farther away” from the load/trip/booking starting point than the value specified. If the field is left blank, no distance limit is applied.
-
Next Assignment Limit: This numeric value is in the user’s distance unit of measure. When specified, the value is used to further limit the list of candidates based on the asset’s next assignment start location and its proximity to the load/trip/booking ending location. If the field is left blank, no distance limit is applied.
- Business Hours: Allows you to specify whether the business hours are considered while finding assets. The following options are available:
Not Considered: Business hours will not be considered.
Available During Start/End: Considers the Asset’s business hours while finding the assets. Compares the Asset’s availability against the Start and End Date/Time only.
Available Continuously: Considers the Asset’s business hours while finding the assets. Compares the Asset’s availability throughout the assignment.
Note: Assets are excluded when the asset’s carrier code doesn’t match the carrier code of the input load, trip, or booking except when the asset is marked as Shared.
The following tabs are available:
- Eligible: Displays the list of assets for the selected entity. Currently assigned assets at the selected entity level will have
icon. Currently assigned assets at a different level (for example, load level for a selected trip, or trip level for a selected load) will have
icon.
-
Override Required: Displays the list of assets with violations where the eligibility type is Override Required. Currently assigned assets at the selected entity level will have
icon. Currently assigned assets at a different level will have
icon. You can select assets from this tab only when the user is in a user group with Eligible to Maintain Assignment with Violations enabled. See User Group fields and Global Settings - Transaction Management - Load 2 tab fields.
- Ineligible: Displays the list of assets with violations where the eligibility type is Ineligible. Currently assigned assets at the selected entity level will have
icon. Currently assigned assets at a different level will have
icon. You cannot select assets from this tab.
Violations for each asset listed on Override Required and Ineligible tabs can be detected in the following ways:
- A value is populated in certain fields. For example, if Equipment Type is populated on one of these tabs, the Equipment Type Violation was raised for this asset.
- Set the mouse pointer over the untitled grid cell of a populated row (displayed in Customize Layout as Status Record) to view formatted tooltip text listing all identified violations for a Candidate.
Each Asset entry may exhibit multiple violations.
Operations
- Add/Save: Creates asset assignments based on each selected asset ID, status, reason code and pre-selected load/trip/booking ID.
- Replace All/Save: Replaces all existing asset assignments with the selected Asset ID(s), status, reason code.
-
Replace Type/Save: Asset assignments for the selected entity which are of the same asset type are replaced with the selected assets. Assets of any other type are untouched.

Note: This operation will not delete existing asset assignments.
Note: If there is no existing asset assignment, this operation will be similar to Add/Save. If any asset assignments exist, the system will delete existing asset assignments associated to the pre-selected load/trip/booking ID. This operation will create asset assignments based on each selected asset ID and pre-selected load/ trip/booking ID.
Note: Multiple asset selection is permitted within and across the Eligible and Override Required tabs.
