Booking view operations in Transportation Smartbench

This section lists booking view operations with a description.

You can access entity view operations in any of the following ways:

Select an operation from the operation toolbar
Right-click over the entity grid’s row selection check box

Note: This method requires the presence of at least one row in the entity grid.

Note: Administrator can configure operations for a role. Only the authorized operations are displayed in your operation toolbar.

The Transportation Smartbench (TSB) performs basic validations when an operation is initiated.

Front-end validations include the following:

To test whether an operation requires row selection or supports multi-row selection
To halt an operation when the user is not authorized to the plan(s) referenced in the selection
To test the entire selection for the same plan when applicable.

Front-end validation errors display in the form of a dialog box. If a validation message is displayed, the entire operation is halted and you must take appropriate corrective action before re-initiating the operation.

When configured, the TSB displays a confirmation dialog box allowing you to cancel the action before it is passed to the back-end API for execution.

Few operations require you to select an appropriate reason code to proceed with the operation. See Event reason codes for more information.

Comprehensive validations are performed by back-end APIs servicing most TSB operations. The results of operations are summarized in a single message and displayed on the title bar of the Results View. As a result, some objects in the selection may succeed while others may fail. The message in the Results View summarizes the status of the whole operation. The outcome of the operation on individual objects in the selection can be viewed by clicking the message. This opens the TSB session log to show messages for each object-operation performed since the start of the TSB session.

Cancel Re-Planning	Yes	Yes	Cancels re-planning for the booking. Applicable when re-planning (optimization) is currently active for the booking. When requested, results of the optimization plan applicable to this booking are disregarded. See Cancel re-planning for a booking (Employee).

Create Attachment	Yes	No	Allows you to create an attachment for the selected booking revisions. See Create Attachment (All).

Optimize	Not applicable	No	Displays the Create Optimization Request page in TM Web UI. Pre-validation requires that you have a current plan. See Optimization Request.
Properties	No	No	Displays Properties view of the booking.
Rate	Yes	Yes	Performs the rating request for the booking. If the Rate operation is successful, totals can be viewed by exposing the applicable columns on the booking view or by accessing the Booking properties. For more information, see Rate a booking (Employee).
Rate Shop	No	No	Displays the Rate Shop for Booking page. See Rate Shop for Booking - Transportation Smartbench. Note: This operation is available in the operation toolbar only when Monetary Information Control is set to All Monetary Values for a user.
