Evaluate Summary Page

Evaluation Mode performs operations in a non-persistent environment, allowing planners to set overrides as necessary for the operation to succeed, view results, and save or cancel the operation.

Evaluation Mode is supported for the following operations:

  • Add Shipment Legs to Load
  • Add Loads to Trip
  • Assign Partial Shipment to Load
  • Join Shipments to Stop of Load
  • Reorder Stops of Load
  • Reorder Loads of Trip
  • Split Shipments from Stop of Load

The evaluate page consists of three section:

  • Message Log: Displays the message(s) of each Evaluate or Reevaluate execution with the time of the attempt. Each re-execution adds one or more rows to the top of the grid.
  • Impacted Loads and Trips: Displays the loads and trips which are impacted by changes to either the sources or targets of the operation. For Reorder Stops of Load, the load is both the source and target of the operation. For Reorder Loads of Trip, the trip is both the source and target of the operation. For each impacted load or trip, the relationship to the source or target is displayed. The supported relationships are:
    • Source
    • Target
    • Source Dependency
    • Source Parent
    • Target Dependency
    • Target Parent

      • When Evaluate or Reevaluate does not succeed, the error message displayed in the Message Log gives information about the problem. Overrides can be enabled to resolve errors encountered by the initial Evaluate execution or a subsequent Reevaluate execution. For each impacted load or trip, the following overrides can be enabled:

    • Override Weight/Volume
    • Override Tariff Restrictions
    • Override Execution Scheduling
    • Override Continuation
    • Override Suspension

      • After enabling the appropriate overrides, click Reevaluate to perform the operation again.

      Click anywhere on the title bar to expand or collapse the Impacted Loads and Trips section.

  • Evaluation Results: When an Evaluate or Reevaluate execution is successful, displays the results of the evaluation operation. The summary row displays the differences in the values between the Before state and the After state of the operation. The Total Summary display the total net change.
    • Compare Violations: Select a row from the Evaluation Results section and click Compare Violations to view any existing violations from the Before state and any violations from the After state of the operation for the object.
    • Compare Schedules: Select a row from the Evaluation Results section and click Compare Schedules to view the Load/Trip schedule data from the Before state and the After state of the operation for the object.

      • Click anywhere on the title bar before the Customize Layout icon to expand or collapse the Evaluation Results section.

Click Return button to exit the Evaluation summary page and returns to the initial operation confirmation page.

Click the Save button to save the Evaluation Mode modifications to the database. This will perform the operation and save both the selected overrides and the rating, routing, and scheduling results.

Clicking the Cancel button displays the cancel confirmation window. If confirmed, all the dialog pages are closed and the control is returned to the Smartbench frame.
