Map Settings
The Map Settings page provides user options related to how certain objects are rendered in the map view. The following options are available:
- Show Routes: When selected, directs the current map control instance to render route lines to follow streets if possible. Otherwise, route lines are depicted as straight lines between related shipping locations with arrowheads to indicate direction.
- Show Reported Locations: Reported Locations refer to execution-related activities reported against an entity that include geo-coordinates which allow it to be displayed on the map. Such activities include but are not limited to: loading/unloading activities, revised ETA events, current location events, explicitly reported driver breaks and stop-level arrivals and departures. The options include the following:
- None: No reported location events will be rendered on the Map.
- Last Reported Location: The map view renders only the last active reported location marker whenever an "applicable entity" (see note below) is identified as having a qualifying activity providing latitude/longitude coordinates.
- All Reported Locations: In addition to rendering the route line and last reported location, each distinct reported location event will also be rendered (if any). Markers are connected by a thin line to reflect the sequence of reporting. Line and marker color will match the route line color.
Last reported location markers will be rendered for trips and bookings sent to the map view based on qualifying activities for loads currently attached to those objects.
Note: Applicable entity types are Asset, Asset Assignment, Load, Trip, and Booking.
- Asset Reported Location Cut-off (Days): When specified, allows you to limit the volume of reported locations rendered on the map for an asset. For example, if this field is set to 50, the system will lookback 50 days from the current system date/time as a filter on reported locations.
- Map Based On (if available): Allows the user to choose a preferred data source for rendering stop location markers when loads and asset assignments are displayed on the map. The options include the following:
- Stops: Location markers are rendered based on the physical stops attached to the load. If an asset assignment is unassociated, start and end locations are used.
- Planning Schedule: Location markers are rendered based on load schedule entries representing how the load was planned. If no planning schedule exists, then Stops is used.
- Execution Schedule: Location markers are rendered based on load schedule entries representing how the load is executed. If no execution schedule exists, then Planning Schedule is used. If no planning schedule exists, then Stops is used.
Note: This field is enabled only when Show Reported Locations is set to All Reported Locations.
Note: To view load schedule data applicable to a trip or booking, send all loads attached to the trip/booking to the map.
