Unassigned Shipment Legs

Shipment legs that have not yet been attached to a load nor placed on a manifest.

Unit Adjustment Factor

A factor applied to the rating units before extending units by the per-unit rate.

For example: The Unit Adjustment Factor for a charge code for an LTL service where the rates are per hundredweight would be 100, using a Unit Adjustment Factor of "Divide Input Units by Factor". See Range Break.

Unloaded Distance

The distance travelled by the tractor where the trailer or cargo area is empty (Deadhead) plus distance travelled when tractor is not pulling a trailer (Bobtail). Will include distance from domicile to first stop, distance between loads on a trip and distance from final drop stop to origin location for any round-trip. It can be calculated as the difference between Total distance and Loaded distance: Unloaded distance = Total distance - Loaded distance. For loads using a point-to-point tariff, the unloaded distance will always be zero.

For example: You can set up zone groups collecting all the zones used on the tariffs for a specific carrier.
