Currency

  • Currency Code: The ID for the Currency. It is user-assigned, mandatory and cannot be modified after a Currency has been created. It must be unique. The Currency Codes supplied in bootstrap data for Transportation Manager conform to values assigned by the International Standards Organization (ISO 4217 Currency Symbol List).
  • Description: User maintainable description. It is mandatory. It can be modified in Update mode.
  • Active: This flag indicates whether this currency is active. Only an active currency can be specified when creating a new setup entity where currency can be assigned. An inactive currency can be used for an operational or financial transaction.
  • Euro Rate: The exchange rate for this currency in relation to the Euro. Visible only for currencies that have been amalgamated under the Euro. Expressed as rate by which a value expressed in Euros would have to be multiplied to compute the equivalent amount in applicable currency. Not defined for currencies that have not been amalgamated under the Euro. This exchange rate is locked in on the day the currency was officially replaced by the Euro. This value cannot be updated.
  • Rounding Precision: Indicates whether amounts in this currency are expressed to zero, one or two decimal places. Most currencies including US Dollars, UK Pounds Sterling and Euros are expressed with a rounding precision of two decimal places. Japanese Yen are an example of a currency where rounding precision may be zero decimals. While this value can be modified in Update mode, is it recommended that it not be modified after transactions (for example. shipments, freight bills) have been created using this currency.
