Range Code fields
Range Code
- Range ID: The ID for the Range Code. It is user-assigned, mandatory and cannot be modified after the Range Code has been created.
- Description: User maintainable description for the Range Code. It is mandatory. It can be modified in Update mode if the Range Code has not been referenced by a Tariff Charge.
Range Breaks
Note: Multiple occurrences of Range Break information can be established for each Range Code. It can be modified in Update mode if the Range Code has not been referenced by a Tariff Charge.
- Range To: The high end of the range. Mandatory. Rating will compare this value to the look-up units to determine which range rate is applicable. There is no Unit of Measure qualification for Range Codes. If a Range Code is used for a Tariff Charge with look-up units of weight on a tariff with a weight unit of measure of pounds, then the Ranges will implicitly represent pounds. If the same Range Code is used for a different Tariff Charge with look-up units of distance for a tariff with a distance unit of measure of kilometers, the same set of ranges will implicitly represent kilometers when used for the second tariff.
- Charge Type: Mandatory. Will be one of these values:
- Per-Unit: The Range Rate will be extended by the applicable number of rating units to establish the charge amount.
- Flat Rate: The Range Rate for the applicable range will be assigned as the charge amount.
- Percentage: The applicable number of rating units will be extending by this percentage to establish the charge amount.
- Clipped: Indicates whether clipping is applicable for this range. Clipping is never applicable for the first range for a rate. When enabled, the rates are applied to the amounts associated with each individual range, else, the rate for the applicable range applies to all rating units. See Clipping.
