  1. Select Customize > Customize Layout located on the right-hand side of the title bar on your entity view. The Customize Grid Layout dialog box is displayed. The Selected list provides the ability to configure multi-column sorting on up to 9 columns. There are two columns controlling this feature: Sort Level and Sort Order.
  2. Display the combo box for each by selecting an appropriate row under one of these column headers. Then, select from the combo box.

For example, to sort by the first column in the list:

  1. Select the first row under Sort Level and choose 1 from the combo box.
  2. Select the first row under the Sort Order Column and select either Ascending or Descending from the combo box depending on how values in these fields are to be ordered.

Notes:

  • If you select a Sort Level but no Sort Order, or if you select same Sort Level on more than one column, an error is displayed when you try to save your customization.
  • You cannot sort on a column that is not selected for display. If you need to sort on a column, but have little need to look at it, consider moving the column to the bottom of the Selected list.
  • For most columns, the Sort Order can be Ascending or Descending. Columns where the field is a True/False flag or defined by a Transportation Manager Domain Table are ‘grouped’ as opposed to sorted and may display in a non-alphabetical order. The sorted order, upward or downward triangle, is appended as a superscript before the column label on the applicable entity view.
  • The Sort Level will be added as a superscript value before the column label on the applicable entity view (for example, 1Carrier ID).
