Show Selection Totals and Averages

Each entity type offers a modest set of numeric elements that are summed or averaged and displayed in entity view footers. When you make row selections, the corresponding elements in the selection are added and the total or average is displayed in the view’s footer section. This feature may be useful, for example, when you build loads and you try to reach (or stay below) a particular weight, volume or cost threshold.

To enable this feature, select the Show Selection check box and from the Totals and Averages drop-down lists, select appropriate elements to be displayed in the entity view footers.

Notes:

  • The Totals and Averages drop-down list values available for selection vary by entity type.
  • A value representing an average (if selected) is displayed with an overscore (that is, a line over the value).
  • When an element is selected to display both total and average values, the total value appears before the average value.
  • Users configured as not permitted to view cost information may see the selection totals and averages as zero depending on the Monetary Information Control setting in the user’s profile.
  • A row selection count will be presented unconditionally as the first field in the entity view footer when the Show Selection feature is enabled for an entity view.
  • The grid column associated with selected totals or averages must also be in the list of columns selected for display.
