Country fields
- Country ID: The ID for the Country. It is mandatory and cannot be modified after a Country has been created. System-provided Country codes conform to the International Standards Organization three character alphabetic format (ISO_3166-char).
- Country Name: User maintainable name for the country. It is mandatory. It can be modified in Update mode, even for system-provided countries.
- Postal Code Required: Indicates whether the postal codes must be supplied for addresses in the country. Can only be set from "True" to "False", if the Postal Records Available flag is False for this country. Changes from "False" to "True" are not permitted because this change must be done in conjunction with data conversion for addresses in the applicable country.
- Postal Records Available: Indicates whether postal data is maintained for this country. When postal data exists, city/state data will also exist. When postal data exists, address validation will verify the integrity the relationships between city, state/province, zip/postal code and country. This field is not editable. It will be impacted by the processes used to maintain Postal and City/State data.
- City/State Only Records Available: Indicates whether just city/state data is maintained for this country. When city/state data exists for a country with corresponding postal data, address validation will verify the integrity the relationship between city, state/province and country when maintaining geo-areas for zones. There is no impact on general address validation. This field is not editable. It will be impacted by the processes used to maintain Postal and City/State data.
- Geo Code Required: Indicates whether Geo Codes (latitude / longitude pairs) are required when establishing addresses for this country. This flag will be used both when maintaining master entities as well as override addresses for transactional entities (for example, Shipments or Non-Operational Freight). This field is editable in create and update modes.
- Geo Code Latitude: Default latitude for addresses in this country. A value will normally be specified only when a Distance Engine for Geo Code is not available for this country. It is expected that any such country would be far from your normal sphere of operations. Each whole number represents one degree of Latitude, where positive numbers are north of the Equator and negative numbers are south of the Equator. Any value between (-90.0000) and (+90.0000) is valid, including zero. As a point of reference, Minneapolis, Minnesota as well as Milan and Venice in Northern Italy are approximately 45 degrees Latitude north of the Equator while the North Pole is exactly 90 degrees Latitude north of the Equator. The 45 degree parallel in Latitude south of the Equator cuts through the South Island of New Zealand and the Southern parts of Argentina and Chile in South America. The South Pole is exactly 90 degrees Latitude south of the Equator.
- Geo Code Longitude: Default longitude for addresses in this country. A value will normally be specified only when a Distance Engine for Geo Code is not available for this country. It is expected that any such country would be far from your normal sphere of operations. Each whole number will represent one degree of Longitude, where positive numbers are east of the prime meridian that runs through Greenwich, UK and negative numbers are west of Greenwich. Any value between (-180.0000) and (+180.0000) is valid, including zero. As a point of reference, New Orleans, Louisiana is about 90 degrees Longitude west of Greenwich (negative 90 degrees) while Mount Everest on the Nepal/Tibet border is about 90 degrees Longitude east of Greenwich (that is, positive 90 degrees). The International Date Line, the meridian that runs between the poles through the Pacific Ocean, is both 180 degrees Longitude east of Greenwich and 180 degrees Longitude west of Greenwich.
- Distance Engine for Geo Code: The distance engine that will be used to retrieve Geo Codes (that is, latitude / longitude pairs) for locations in this country.
- Distance Engine for Distance/Transit Time: The distance engine that will be used to establish distances between points in this country, or between points in this country and another country that refers to the same Distance Engine for Distance/Transit Time Retrieval.
- Country (ISO-3166-A2): The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) two character code for this country.
- Country (ISO-3166-Number): The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) three digit code for this country.
- Country (ISO-3166-Char): The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) three character code for this country. This will be equal to the Country ID for system-provided countries.
- Country (UN/Car): The UN code for this country. UN codes are maintained by the United Nations.
- Country (FIPS-104): The FIPS code for this country. FIPS codes are maintained by the US Government.
- System Provided: Indicates whether this System Screen Element has been provided as part of the base Transportation Manager data set. Setting is controlled by the application.
