Select trips to be sent to Optimizer

If the Include Eligible Trips check box on the Optimization Request (Employee) page is selected, trips will be selected if they satisfy filter criteria as specified on the Create Optimization Request – Select Trips (Employee) page AND also meet the following fixed criteria:

  • Trip division matches division for the optimization request
  • Trip operational status is not Ineligible, All Loads Completed, Closed, or Canceled.
  • Optimization Request ID for trip is not assigned
  • Scheduling is active for the trip.
  • Apply Resource Constraint flag for the trip should be true.

  • Neither the trip nor its loads should have an asset assignment with violations.

  • Trip’s resources should either:

    • not be hard committed

    • Return to Origin Domicile Date/Time Overridden should be False

  • If the trip refers to a Plan ID, it must be equal to the plan defined for the Optimization Request.
  • At least one of the following statements is true:
    • At least one load is Open or Planned operational status
    • At least one load is Tendered or Tender Accepted operational status and carrier is configured to allow new shipments on load after tender
    • Continuation allowed flag for the trip is True
    • At least one attached load includes at least one stop where the Dock Schedule Status is Required and not Computed and pick-up and/or delivery has yet to be reported

For a trip to be selected, each of the loads currently attached to the trip must meet these requirements:

  • If any of the loads attached to the trip are attached to a plan, they must be attached to the plan defined for the optimization request
  • Optimization Request ID is not assigned for each of the loads on the trip
  • If any of the loads attached to the trip are in open operational status, the global setting for open load composition selection applies:
    • If Exclude All Unapproved, the load approved flag for those loads must be true
    • If Include All Unapproved, the load approved flag for those loads may be true or false
    • If Exclude Unapproved Non-Skeleton, the load approved flag for those loads must be true or the load source is Skeleton Load
  • Stops exist for all of the loads
  • If a dock commitment exists for one or more of the stops on the loads for the trip, there are no applicable Dock Commitment Violations for these dock commitment(s).
  • None of the loads is suspended.
  • Scheduling is active for all loads.
  • Load’s Carrier Sequential Tender status should not be Waiting for Processing or In Processing.

  • No Overrides on Non-Live Pick-Up/Drop-off

  • None of the loads has overridden a hard commitment for an attached shipment leg.

Note: Trips will be updated with the applicable Optimizer Request ID when they are selected for re-planning. This ID will be removed when the optimization process completes. Trips will be unavailable for many functions in Transportation Manager while re-planning is active.
