Tariff Service fields - General tab
Note: With the exception of Service ID, all supported fields on this tab are editable in Update mode.
Service
- Service ID: The ID for the service. Refers to a master service. Each master service can be activated just once per tariff. For referential tariffs, service must have already been enabled for corresponding master tariff. Not editable in Update mode.
- Service Description: The description for this service for this tariff. Will default to the description for the designated master service.
- Restricted Use: Indicates whether this tariff service is restricted. If restricted, tariff service will not be included when a rate shop request is triggered in Transportation Manager (web UI, Smartbench, API, carrier sequential tendering) and will not be proposed by Optimizer unless service for the transaction is committed.
- External Service Type: Used to cross-reference tariff service to a service defined in an external rating engine (for example, SMC RateWare).
Operations (not applicable for Customer Specific tariffs)
- Assign to Load: Indicates whether a shipment where this tariff/service has been assigned by optimization should be assigned to a load when results are returned from the Optimizer to Transportation Manager. If false, shipment legs will be targeted to follow the manifest work flow.
- Allow Stops: Indicates whether intermediate stops are allowed using this tariff service. If false, tariff service will be eligible only for single-pick and single-drop movements.
- Auto Accept Tender: Indicates whether any tender issued to the carrier using this tariff service will be automatically accepted. If true, application will accept tender without waiting for an affirmative reply from the carrier. This value can be overridden at tariff lane level.
- Send Tender via Email: Default setting indicating whether the tender for a load, trip, or booking using this tariff service should be issued to carrier via email.
- Send Tender via Fax: Default setting indicating whether the tender for a load, trip, or booking using this tariff service should be issued to carrier via fax.
- Send Tender via Event Notification: Default setting indicating whether the tender for a load, trip, or booking using this tariff service should be issued to carrier via event notification. This flag will be carried to the event notification messages created when tenders are created, cancelled or updated. Event notification requires separate configuration in order for the tender messages to be generated. When event notification is configured, the event notification message will be generated even when this flag is False. The flag can be used by integration to control whether tenders should be sent to the carrier electronically (for example, EDI-204 or EDI-300).
- Exclude from Carrier Sequential Tendering: When set to exclude, carrier sequential tendering will exclude the tariff service from consideration unless both carrier and service have been hard or soft committed. This value can be overridden at tariff lane level.
- Manifest Group: Applicable only when tariff service is assigned to a shipment leg following the manifest work flow. Shipment legs from different services for same tariff can be combined onto same manifest if they reference the same manifest group.
- Container Tracking: Indicates whether container tracking is performed for transactions handled using this tariff service. If true, a tracking number will be required for each package. Applicable only when tariff service is used for shipment legs following manifest work flow.
- Tracking Number Level: Indicates whether tracking numbers should be generated at shipment leg and/or shipment leg container (that is, package) level. Applicable only when tariff service is used for shipment legs following manifest work flow.
- Exclude from Optimization: Indicates whether this tariff service should be excluded from optimization. If true, tariff service will not be proposed by Optimizer unless both carrier and service for the transaction are hard committed. This value can be overridden at tariff lane level.
- Freight Auction Eligibility: Optional. This can be used to control whether this tariff service should be considered eligible for freight auction. If enabled for contract bidding, the corresponding carrier can be included as one of the recipients when a contract bidding round is initiated. This same applies for non-contract. This value can be overridden at tariff lane level.
- Generate Dock Commitments: Indicates whether dock commitments will be generated by the Optimizer at locations where docks have been configured. In many environments, this flag will be set to false for parcel and LTL services.
Booking (applicable for Carrier Specific, Customer Specific and Generic tariffs)
- Assign to Booking: If selected, the tendering operation only allows tender to be issued for a booking. A trip, loads attached to a trip or unattached loads are not eligible for the tender operation using a tariff service where this check box is selected. A stand-alone shipment leg is not eligible for the confirmation operation using a tariff service where this check box is selected.
- Booking Service Type: The booking service type: door-to-door, door-to-port, port-to-door, port-to-port. This field is mandatory when Assign to Booking is selected.
Scheduling (not applicable for Customer Specific tariffs)
- Scheduling Method: The scheduling method will be "System Delivery Schedule", "External Delivery Schedule" or "Distance Engine".
- External Delivery Schedule: An external delivery schedule is required when Scheduling Method is "External Delivery Schedule" and must be null when Scheduling Method is "Distance Engine" or "System Delivery Schedule". External Delivery Schedules are typically used for LTL and parcel services. When specified, will refer to an External Delivery Schedule Engine Version. If a Division is defined for the tariff, Division for the External Delivery Schedule Version must be equal to the Division for tariff, or it must not refer to a Division.
- Delivery Schedule: The delivery schedule code is required when Scheduling Method is "System Delivery Schedule" and must be null when Scheduling Method is "Distance Engine" or "External Delivery Schedule". Delivery Schedules can be used to represent service schedules for ocean, rail, air, parcel and LTL services. When specified, will refer to a Delivery Schedule. If a Division is defined for the tariff, Division for the Delivery Schedule must be equal to the Division for tariff, or it must not refer to a Division.
- Team Driver: Indicates whether team drivers are used for loads/trips handled using this tariff service. When team driver is enabled, scheduling will not allow for legislated driver breaks that must be provided for single drivers. Applicable only when Scheduling Method is "Distance Engine".
- Weekend / Holiday Scheduling Control: This controls whether business hours (including holidays) for the tariff service will be considered during scheduling. A value is required when the field is editable. When Scheduling Method is “Distance Engine”, all six potential values for Weekend / Holiday Scheduling Control are eligible. When Scheduling Method is “Internal Delivery Schedule” or “External Delivery Schedule”, the only eligible values are “No Break in Schedule” and "Break Anywhere". See Weekend / Holiday Scheduling for more information.
- Internal Scheduling: Specifies whether pre-loading/post-discharge scheduling is required for the specific tariff service when load's first/last stop is non-live loading/unloading and the stop location has pre-loading/post-discharge enabled. Not applicable for parcel shipping or manifest load.
Forms Control (not applicable for Customer Specific tariffs)
- Print Label: Indicates whether shipping labels should be printed when shipment leg confirmation is performed for a shipment leg where this tariff service has been assigned.
- Print BOL: Indicates whether a Bill of Lading document (BOL) should be printed when shipment leg confirmation is performed for a shipment leg where this tariff service has been assigned.
