List of Rates for Tariff (Employee)
A rate is a set of charge information associated with a unique combination of these tariff elements:
- Tariff
- Service
- Charge (that is, Condition or Option)
- Freight Class (*FAK for charges that are not multi-freight class enabled)
- Rate Code
- Date Range (Optional)
- Equipment Type (Optional)
Note: Date Range can only be specified for rates defined for tariff charges where ‘Rates by Date’ is checked. The Date Range specified must lie within the tariff’s effective / expiration dates.
Note: Equipment Type is mandatory when the Tariff Charge refers to a Master Charge where the Equipment Specific Charge contains a value (that is, "Tractor" or "Trailer"); it will be disabled when this field does not refer to an Equipment Category.
The List of Rates for Tariff contains a row for each Rate defined for the tariff.
The Rate Code must be valid for the tariff before it can be referenced by a Rate. Rate Codes can be created at the same time as a Rate by specifying Create Using Specified Value for Rate Code Control.
You must set up the Services, Conditions, and Options for the tariff before you can define rates.
For information about rates in master and referential tariffs, see "Referential tariffs: Rates".
The List of Rates for Tariff can be accessed from any of the following lists:
- List of Tariffs
- List of Rate Codes for Tariff
- List of Lanes for Tariff
- List of Services for Tariff
- List of Lanes for Tariff Service
- List of Conditions for Tariff Service

List
By default, the various versions of the List of Rates for Tariff will be sorted in ascending order by Service, Charge, Rate Code and finally Freight Class.
For information on icons and functionalities available on the list pages, see Web Interface lists.
For referential tariffs, by default, the List of Rates for Tariff will present only the rates specifically defined for the referential tariff. Users can elect to also include rates from the corresponding master tariff on the list.
Note: If the same attributes are used to define a rate on a master tariff and a corresponding referential tariff, when viewing rates for the referential tariff and including rates from the master tariff, two separate rows are displayed in succession.
Note: The List of Rates for Tariff allows up to twenty (20) of the Rate Ranges and corresponding Rates to be presented. If the Tariff Rate uses a Range ID with more than twenty (20) range breaks, only the first twenty (20) Rates and Range Breaks can be presented on the list. Range Breaks are sequenced from lowest to highest Range Break value.
Properties
The properties for a Rate are presented on a single page with two tabs. Users will initially be presented the General tab. The Ranges tab can only be accessed when maintaining rates for Conditions or Options where a Range ID has been specified. See Tariff Rate Fields.
In Create mode, the Submit/Continue button will create the rate and keep you on the same page so that you can create another rate. The Submit/Finish button will create the rate and return you to the list from which this page was accessed.
For equipment type specific charges, Equipment Category for the specified Equipment Type must be compatible with the value defined for the Equipment Specific Charge field for the designated Master Charge.
The Refresh icons presented to the right of the Effective Date and Expiration Date can be used to retrieve the Start Date and End Date for the tariff but only when the applicable Tariff Charge has Rates by Date selected, a Rate Code has been specified and there are no existing rates for the tariff / service / charge / rate code combination.
