Tariff Service Charge fields - Rating tab
Note: None of the attributes on this tab are editable when the Charge Based on Carrier flag is True. Applicable only for tariff charges on Customer (A/R) tariffs.
Units
- Rating Unit Type: Read-only. Defaults based on the Rating Unit Type for the selected master condition/option (for example, Total Distance, Weight, Volume, or Additional Stops).
- Look-Up Unit Type: The look-up units used for this tariff charge (for example, additional stops, weight, volume, or total distance). Optional. This will allow lookup vs. range breaks and rating to be performed using different rating units. Eligible values will vary based on Data Accumulation Level for the applicable master condition/option. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- Minimum Units of Selection: Rating is only performed for tariff charges when the effective number of rating units falls between the Minimum Units of Selection and Maximum Units of Selection. The rating units to be used as a basis for selection are defined by the (rating) unit type for the corresponding master condition/option. Where applicable, this is expressed in the tariff unit of measure or tariff rating currency, regardless of the currency for any rates associated with the tariff charge. Minimum Units of Selection must be less than or equal to Maximum Units of Selection. See Minimum/Maximum Rating Units – Restricted To.
- Maximum Units of Selection: See the description for Minimum Units of Selection.
- Minimum Units for Rate Application: Rating will use the Minimum Units for Rate Application if value is greater than the actual number of rating units. If the value assigned as the look-up unit type for the transaction is the same as the (rating) unit type, the minimum will also be used for rate range look-up. Where applicable, this is expressed in the tariff unit of measure or tariff rating currency, regardless of the currency for any rates associated with the tariff charge. Minimum Units for Rate Application must be less than or equal to Maximum Units for Rate Application. See Minimum/Maximum Rating Units – Application.
- Maximum Units for Rate Application: Rating will use the Maximum Units for Rate Application if value is less than the actual number of rating units. If the value assigned as the look-up unit type for the transaction is the same as the (rating) unit type, the maximum will also be used for rate range look-up. Where applicable, this is expressed in the tariff unit of measure or tariff rating currency. Maximum Units for Rate Application must be greater than or equal to Minimum Units for Rate Application.
- Range ID: The Range ID that defines the range breaks that will be used for rates for this tariff charge. Range ID can be changed from null to non-null and from non-null to null only when there are no rates defined for this Tariff Charge. Otherwise, Range ID is updateable in Update mode. If the Fuel Surcharge Charge flag for the corresponding Master Charge is True, the designated Range must have exactly one range break.
- Unit Adjustment Factor: Must be a positive number. The Rating Units will be adjusted by this factor before being used in rating calculations. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs. A value of 1 indicates that Rating Units will be used "as is". See Create an LTL tariff – suggested workflow for an example of how the Unit Adjustment fields should be configured when setting up an LTL tariff.
- Unit Adjustment Factor Operation: Indicates whether the Rating Units will be multiplied or divided by the Unit Adjustment Factor. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- Unit Adjustment Factor Timing: Controls whether the Rating Units will be adjusted by the Unit Adjustment Factor before or after performing rate look-up. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- Rounding Rule: Controls whether or not the Rating Units will be rounded up to the next integer before being used in rating calculations. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- Include in Rating Units for Freight Amount: Indicates whether the computed amount associated with this tariff charge will be included in the aggregate Freight Amount that can be used as the rating units for subsequently computed charges. This flag only impact the value used as rating units, not the total charge. See Use Freight Charge Amount as a Rating Unit.
- Time Data Source: This field is applicable when the time based rating units are used as rating units, look-up units or for any net-effect calculations for the tariff charge.
- Planning Always: The planning values will always be used.
- Execution if Available: The execution-based values will be used if available, else planning values will be used.
Amounts
- Base Charge: The base charge amount for this tariff charge. This amount will be applied in addition to charges incurred based on the applicable rates for this tariff charge. It is expressed in rating currency for the tariff. Negative values are allowed. Not applicable when the currency for the rate and the tariff are not equal.
- Maximum Charge: The maximum amount that will be charged for this tariff charge. It is expressed in rating currency for the tariff. Negative values are allowed. It must be greater than or equal to the Minimum Charge. Not applicable when the currency for the rate and the tariff are not equal.
- Minimum Charge: The minimum amount that will be charged for this tariff charge. It is expressed in rating currency for the tariff. Negative values are allowed. It must be less than or equal to the Maximum Charge. Not applicable when the currency for the rate and the tariff are not equal.
- Apply Discount/Surcharge to Minimum/Maximum: Indicates whether applicable discounts or surcharges should be applied to the minimum and maximum charge amounts. If not checked, Minimum Charge and Maximum Charge are absolute limits.
- Mandatory Rate: Indicates whether rating for this tariff charge is mandatory during rating. When true, if a rate cannot be identified for the applicable rate code and range, the rating request will fail. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- Look Ahead/Back: Indicates whether look-ahead to next rate range break or look-back to previous range break should be performed after computing rates for the applicable rate range. See Look Ahead / Look Back. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- External Rating Engine Version: Optional. When specified, will refer to an External Rating Engine Versions. If a Division is defined for the tariff, Division for the External Rating Engine Version must be equal to the Division for tariff, or it must not refer to a Division. Cannot be edited when rates exist for this tariff charge. If tariff charge is a condition and current tariff is a master tariff, this cannot be edited if rates exist for a related referential tariff. Not editable for conditions on referential tariffs.
- Freight Class for Deficit Rating: Applicable only when corresponding master charge is enabled for multi-freight class rating. If specified, the designated freight class will be used when establishing a rate for the deficit weight (implied additional weight added to actual weight so that transaction will be eligible for the next weight break). If not specified, rating for deficit weight will be based on the lowest rate for any freight class on the shipment, load, etc. Value cannot be modified if entries exist for the tariff charge in the freight class cross-reference table.
