Shipment view operations in Transportation Smartbench

This section lists the shipment view operations in alphabetical order with a brief description.

You can access entity view operations in any of the following ways:

Select an operation from the operation toolbar
Right-click over the entity grid’s row selection check box

Note: This method requires there be at least one row in the entity grid.

Note: Administrators configure which operations are available and the order in which they are displayed based on your role. Only authorized operations are displayed in your operations toolbar.

The Transportation Smartbench (TSB) performs basic validations when an operation is initiated.

Front-end validations include testing whether an operation requires row selection or supports multi-row selection.

Front-end validation errors display in the form of a dialog box. If a validation message is displayed, the entire operation is halted and you must take appropriate corrective action before re-initiating the operation.

When configured, the TSB displays a confirmation dialog box allowing you to cancel the action before it is passed to the back-end API for execution.

A few operations may require you to select an appropriate reason code to proceed with the operation. See "Event reason codes" for more information.

Comprehensive validations are performed by back-end APIs servicing most TSB operations. The results of operations are summarized in a single message and displayed on the title bar of the Results View. As a result, some objects in the selection may succeed while others may fail. The message in the Results View summarizes the status of the whole operation. The outcome of the operation on individual objects in the selection can be viewed by clicking the message. This opens the TSB session log to show messages for each object-operation performed since the start of the TSB session.

Booking Revisions	Yes	No	Opens a Booking Revision view listing all booking revisions associated with bookings that have attached shipment legs associated with selected shipments.
Bookings	Yes	No	Opens a Booking view listing bookings that have attached shipment legs associated with the selected shipments.
Cancel Shipment	Yes	Yes	Cancels the selected shipments and updates the operational status of the shipment to Canceled. Note: You cannot cancel the shipments in Picked Up or higher operational status.
Charge Overrides	No	No	Displays the charge overrides for the selected shipment. See Charge Overrides (Employee).
Clear Override Horizon	Yes	Yes	Clears the override horizon for shipments having overrides for pick-up and/or delivery dates/times.
Close	Yes	Yes	Sets the operational status of selected shipments to Closed.
Collapse Itinerary	Yes	No	Collapses shipment itinerary based on the following options: Collapse Leg: Collapses the second-last and last leg of the shipment itinerary into a single shipment leg. Note: If either of the last two shipment legs for the shipment is attached to a load or manifest, then the operation will fail. Collapse All Legs: Collapses all of the legs of the shipment itinerary into a single shipment leg. Note: If any of the shipment legs for the shipment is attached to a load or manifest, then the operation will fail.
Create Attachment	Yes	No	Allows you to create an attachment for the selected shipments. See Create Attachment (All).
Create Notes	No	No	Allows you to create notes for the selected shipment. See Create notes in Transportation Smartbench.
Delete	Yes	No	Deletes the selected shipments. Note: You cannot delete the shipments in Picked Up or higher operational status.
Distance/Transit Time	No	No	Displays the TM Web Distance/Time Override UI for the selected shipment. See Distance/Time Override (Customer/Employee)).
Duplicate	No	No	Allows you to duplicate a selected eligible Shipment and related details under a new Shipment ID. See Duplicate Shipment.

Generate Event	No	No	Allows you to generate an event for the selected shipment. See Generate event in Transportation Smartbench.
Hold Shipment	Yes	Yes	Allows you to hold selected shipments from being processed that have not yet reached the Picked Up operational status.

Loads	Yes	No	Opens a Load view listing loads associated with each selected shipment.
Map	Yes	No	Sends shipment legs associated with selected shipments to the Map view. Note: This operation will only be available if the map license is detected (and the operation is active/enabled).
Memo	No	No	Displays both internal and external memo fields for the selected shipment.
Lifecycle	No	No	Displays the high-level graphical visualization of the selected shipment. For more details, see Shipment lifecycle overview.
New/Duplicate	Yes	No	Allows you to create new shipments. For more details, see Create shipments using Transportation Smartbench.
Notes	Yes	No	Displays the list of notes associated with the selected shipments. See Notes in Transportation Smartbench.
Process Shipment	Yes	Yes	Updates the operational status of selected shipments from Scheduled to Processed.
Properties	No	No	Displays the properties of the selected shipment. See Shipment properties.
Rate	Yes	Yes	Performs a shipment rating request for each item in the selection. If Rate operation was successful, recomputed charge amounts can be viewed from the shipment list or from shipment properties.
Reference Numbers	No	No	Displays the shipment visible reference numbers in a dialog box for the selected shipment.
Release Shipment	Yes	Yes	Allows you to release selected shipments that are on hold.
Remove Booking MITCC	Yes	Yes	Removes the booking Merge-In-Transit Consolidation Class (MITCC) from the selected shipments and corresponding shipment legs. See Remove the booking merge-in-transit consolidation class for a shipment or load (Employee).
Remove Load MITCC	Yes	Yes	Removes the load MITCC from the selected shipments and corresponding shipment legs. See Remove the load merge-in-transit consolidation class for a shipment leg (Employee).

Return to Pending	Yes	Yes	Updates the operational status of selected shipments from Processed to Scheduled
